On Saturday 30th March Brooklands historic racing circuit came alive to the sound of Italian engines, as enthusiasts soaked up the sunshine at the 2011 AutoItalia Event.

Introduction
The history of motor-sport is such a large subject, so we will attempt to break it down into manageable chunks. And because of its size we will rely heavily on others to contribute, correct and enlarge this record of historic motor-sport history.
